French President Emmanuel Macron has left for an official visit to the United States, where he is expected to be received by the country's president, Joe Biden, AFP reported.

Macron's plane landed at Joint Base Andrews outside Washington, D.C. He will spend two days in the US capital before visiting New Orleans.

Before that, it was reported that one of the main topics of Macron's visit to Washington will be the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). As expected, Macron will try to convince the US president to soften this law, which, according to him, contradicts the norms of the World Trade Organization and is "not friendly".

The negotiations of the two leaders will also concern the prices of the US natural gas being sold to Europe and the competition with China.

The visit of the French president to the US will conclude on Friday.
