Azerbaijani MP Fazail Aghamali has voiced an idea of "setting up an Azerbaijani position in the Lachin corridor."

Speaking at the session of the Azerbaijani parliament, the lawmaker accused Russia of conducting an anti-Azerbaijani policy.

"On the one hand, the tripartite statement signed by [Russian President] Putin, on the other hand, [Russian FM] Lavrov's statements are against Azerbaijan. The commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces [in Nagorno-Karabakh] is not authorized to act independently. In fact, these are not peacekeepers, but pro-Armenian forces," Aghamali said.

Also, the MP emphasized that Azerbaijan should set up a control position at the Lachin corridor.

This statement was fully expected. For a long time, Azerbaijan has been making all kinds of baseless reproaches and accusations which aim to create "grounds" for encroachment on the Lachin corridor.
