The Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) make up 20,000 military personnel. Anatoly Yakovlev, Head of the CSTO Military (Collective Forces) Use Planning Department, announced this, Interfax reports.

"Security forces and means have been created. First of all, they are the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces. About 20,000 servicemen of the contingents of the special forces of the [CSTO-member] states stand ready in all regions of the CSTO zone of responsibility," he said.

"The [Collective] Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO have been created; they make up about 3,800 military personnel," Yakovlev added.

He noted that at present, "an effective [CSTO] collective security system, with corresponding forces and means, has been created."

To note, Armenia also is a member in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
