There is a trend in the world that is aimed at revealing the banking secrecy of people for tax services. Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan announced this during the debates on the package of bills on amendments and addenda to the Tax Code and amendments to related laws at Tuesday’s session of the National Assembly of Armenia.

According to the deputy minister, thus they are trying to make banking secrecy more accessible to taxpayers.

"In the era of globalization, when transnational corporations can have dozens of companies in different countries of the world, carry out business and economic activities—not to mention labor migration reaching huge volumes—, the countries receiving residents begin to need additional information about those same residents. Therefore, we should provide more information about them," said Poghosyan.

And in this regard, according to him, the most reliable way is to provide access to the banking secrecy.
