The UK and the US have signed a new partnership in energy security, which aims to reduce "global dependence" on Russian energy exports, according to the respective statement by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and US President Joe Biden, which was posted on the website of the UK Premier's Office.

“Under the new ‘UK-US Energy Security and Affordability Partnership’, the UK and US will drive work to reduce global dependence on Russian energy exports, stabilise energy markets and step up collaboration on energy efficiency, nuclear and renewables,” the statement reads, in part.

“The partnership will build on the work of the UK-US Strategic Energy Dialogue led by energy ministers, with a focus on [natural] gas supply, energy efficiency, civil nuclear and clean energy,” the statement added.
