The 2023 State Budget draft has been revised. Next year, expenses will amount to 2 trillion 591 billion drams, and revenues will amount to 2 trillion 302 billion drams. Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said this at Wednesday’s session of the National Assembly, during the debates on the draft 2023 State Budget of Armenia.

As the minister noted, the budget deficit will amount to 289 billion drams. According to him, compared to the previous draft of the budget—which was also presented to the parliament for debates—the part on expenses in the updated version has increased by 826 million drams.

"Revenues increased by 734.5 million drams. Tax revenues did not change; they are projected at the level of 2 trillion 203.7 billion drams," Khachatryan said.

According to him, the increase in budget revenues was due to some other revenues, as well as official grants. The deficit of the state budget remained unchanged.

"The changes in the draft 2023 State Budget are due to several reasons. For example, a recalculation of operations in foreign currency was performed in [Armenian currency] drams at the November 1 exchange rate. This, in turn, led to a review of revenues, expenses, as well as the deficit of the state budget," said the minister of finance.
