The chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Surp Pirgic (Holy Savior) Armenian Catholic Church in Istanbul thanked everyone for their support and solidarity after the fire that broke out in the church.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Daniel Atsup said that he received calls from virtually all Turkish state agencies, they asked about the matter, and expressed their support in eliminating the aftermath of the fire.

Atsup emphasized that an investigation has been launched into this fire, and later the Armenian patriarch will make a comprehensive statement.

A fire broke out in the accommodation of the Surp Pirgic Armenian Catholic Church in Beyoglu district of Istanbul Monday evening, as a result of which a 75-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman died.
