The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) joins the call of the UN Secretary General for early de-escalation of tensions and ensuring freedom and security of movement along the Lachin corridor in accordance with all previously reached agreements, said official statement of the Fund.

This, the statement said, is crucial in ensuring and meeting the basic needs of the affected population, which includes women, girls, young people, people with disabilities and the elderly.

The Fund has expressed its willingness to cooperate with all parties in accordance with humanitarian principles so that women and girls, as well as other vulnerable populations, have access to basic necessities and services.
