Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Since January 1, 2023, it is possible to carry out direct air cargo transportation between Turkey and Armenia; this was one of the arrangements reached between the special representatives of Armenia and Turkey.

On January 6, Vahan Hunanyan, the RA MFA spokesperson, also had announced: "The Turkish side informed us today that the ban on direct air cargo transportation has been lifted. We would like to remind that the implementation of direct air cargo transportation between Armenia and Turkey was one of the arrangements reached at the meeting of special representatives on July 1, 2022."

Zhoghovurd daily had turned to the RA Ministry of Economy and inquired whether there were applications for carrying out air cargo transportation after the lifting of this ban.

In response, the RA Ministry of Economy informs: "Since January 1, 2023, after the Turkish side lifted the ban on air cargo transportation between Turkey and Armenia and in the opposite direction, cargo transportation by air is still not being carried out between Armenia and Turkey and in the opposite direction. Coordination of customs and other procedures shall still take place in order to be able to carry out these flights."

That is, there is the decision, there is the political statement, but the issue has not actually been resolved; it is not possible carry out [the aforesaid] transportation.
