A British man won the lottery for $613,000 because he switched shifts at work, writes LADBible. According to the man, he always believed that one day he would be lucky.

Jeff Etherington, 65, works as a machine setter in the automotive industry. In mid-January, he switched shifts with a co-worker to get to a doctor's appointment for a knee replacement. On his way to the hospital, the Briton stopped at a store and bought a lottery ticket.

It turned out that the ticket was a winning one and brought Jeff $613,000. It came as no surprise to the man, though: He believed he'd get rich one day.

The man said he would spend some of the money to arrange a wedding with his fiancée.

In addition, Jeff's co-workers gave them a standing ovation at work upon learning that he had hit the jackpot. Even the Brit's boss came out to congratulate him.
