The International Committee of the Red Cross mediated and escorted six patients from Artsakh to various medical institutions of Armenia, the Artsakh Ministry of Health reported.

Azerbaijan has been blocking the Lachin corridor linking Artsakh with Armenia and the world for more than 40 days, which has caused serious problems and a shortage of food and essential goods, including medicines.

Scheduled operations are still suspended in medical institutions run by the Artsakh Ministry of Health. Eight children are in the neonatology and resuscitation departments of Arevik medical unit. There are 12 patients in intensive care department of Republican Medical Center CJSC, 5 of them are in critical condition.

Until today a total of 55 patients have been brought from Artsakh to Armenia through the mediation and accompaniment of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
