The normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is one of Russia's priority tasks, notes the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) response to the media.

In the commentary, it was stated that Russia and the South Caucasus countries are connected by a common history, spiritual and cultural closeness, and strong friendly ties between their peoples.

It was said in the message that Russia, which directly borders the South Caucasus, is interested in the stability and prosperity of that region, the opening and mutual use of its transport, logistics, trade, investment, and technological opportunities, and this is exactly what the efforts of Russian diplomacy are aimed at.

"We are intensively working to overcome the accumulated conflict potential in the region. One of the priority issues in this regard is the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. The basis is the statements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia on November 9, 2020, January 11, November 26, 2021, and October 31, 2022. We are convinced that the success of the process completely depends on clearly following these tripartite agreements," the comment also stated.
