A number of matters related to ensuring the livelihood of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) residents under the conditions of the ongoing blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan were discussed at the Operational Headquarters’ meeting held today under the chairmanship of Ruben Vardanyan, Minister of State and Head of the Operational Headquarters of Artsakh.

The current situation in the food products, gasoline and diesel markets, as well as the infrastructure in Artsakh was presented at the meeting.

It was reported that the introduction of the coupon system has alleviated the food problem in Artsakh to some extent, but the local population still cannot purchase a number of important products due to the aforesaid blockade.

As for the situation in the gasoline and diesel fuel market in Artsakh, it was noted that there is a shortage of stocks, and therefore the importance of maintaining a strict saving regime was emphasized.

During the meeting, issues of preparations for spring agricultural work and organization of spring planting were also discussed. The Minister of State considered the matter of timely implementation of spring sowing to be important especially from the point of view of food security, noting that work related to the transportation of seeds was currently being carried out.

Taking into account that the members of the Operational Headquarters have already completed the series of regular meetings with the residents in the communities, the Minister of State instructed the officials to sum up the issues raised at those meetings and to present proposals for their solution.
