Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ukraine needs a peace that would be accepted by both sides of the conflict; a unilateral peace would not be accepted by either Kyiv or Moscow.

"As for, the war in Ukraine, we have made efforts from the beginning to end it. The conditions we had in the first months of the war, compared to what we have now, are very different. The further the war goes, the more difficult it gets. We are not even talking about peace now, but at least a cease-fire," Cavusoglu said at a press conference with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto on Tuesday.

According to him, Ankara has said since the beginning of the conflict that "there will be no winners in this war, just as there will be no losers in a sustainable peace."

"We will continue our efforts because we believe that this war will end at the negotiating table...What is needed is a peace that both sides accept. This is not possible without the involvement of both sides. A one-sided peace will not be accepted, either by Russia or Ukraine. We need to face the truth," the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
