For the role of the next Ukraine the West is now looking at Moldova, its president Maia Sandu is ready for almost anything, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Now Moldova is being looked at for this role, Lavrov told Rossiya 24 TV channel and RIA Novosti, responding to a question about which of the countries around Russia could follow the path of Ukraine.

"First of all, because they have been able to put a president at the head of the country, who is simply eager, herself eager to join NATO, she has Romanian citizenship, she is ready to unite with Romania and generally ready for almost anything, by quite specific methods, far from free democratic methods," he explained.
