The number of casualties in the earthquake has reached 237, and 639 people were injured in Syria, the latter’s Ministry of Health informed.

Earlier, it was reported about 111 casualties and 516 injured.

"237 people were killed, 639 people were injured in Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Tartus regions," reported the Ministry of Health of Syria.

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in Turkey's Kahramanmaras Province Monday at 4:17am local time, causing destruction in a number of cities. It was informed about the resultant devastation that happened in several regions of Syria, too, and the earthquake was felt also in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
