During the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran, the Iranian police did not take any measures to prevent a terrorist attack. The head of the Press Service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ayhan Hajizadeh stated at a briefing, Azerbaijani mass media reports.

He noted that the Iranian police failed to take action when a terrorist made various attempts to enter the Azerbaijani Embassy: "When he saw that the attempt to enter the embassy was not successful, the terrorist armed with a gun and a Molotov cocktail opened fire at the windows of the apartments on the floor where family members of the diplomatic mission were located. Then he tried to set fire to our embassy's car. Later an unknown person came to the terrorist's car and took some things from it. All these facts show that the incident was a planned terrorist act.
