Russian President Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the readiness of Russia to assist Turkey in dealing with the consequences of the earthquake, the Kremlin press service reported after the conversation.

Moscow has sent Ankara specific proposals for assistance in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake.

Erdogan thanked Russian head of state Vladimir Putin for the offered assistance in liquidating the consequences of the powerful earthquake, which led to numerous victims.

"Turkish President warmly thanked Vladimir Putin for such a prompt and sincere response and said he was giving instructions to the country's competent agencies to accept the help of Russian rescuers," the report said.
