Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Syrian citizens affected by the earthquake will also receive medical assistance, RIA Novosti reported.

"There was a very strong earthquake in Turkey, which also affected other areas. At the request of the Turkish government, I ordered to send (to Turkey) rescue detachments and medical aid...Since there was also a request to do this for the many victims of the quake in Syria, I ordered to do the same there as well," Netanyahu said in a press statement. According to Israeli media reports, the request was made through Moscow.
