The Armenian man and his daughter, who were injured in Aleppo as a result of the devastating earthquake in Syria, underwent surgery, and the man's leg was broken. Roupen Kevorkian, the director of Radio Yeraz in Aleppo, told Armenian News-NEWS.am about this today.

The mother of that family, Mirna Tenekedjian, and her son, Alber Tenekedjian, were killed in Monday’s quake. They were from the Armenian-populated Aziziyah district of Aleppo.

According to Kevorkian, Aleppo is deserted like yesterday, but unlike the previous day, the weather is favorable for rescue operations. The whole night was spent with aftershocks in the city, and the last one was registered about an hour ago.

"Armenians who have cars spent the night in them, in deserted places far from buildings. And people who did not have cars spent the night in safe buildings, schools, churches, national centers. There are about eight such Armenian centers [in Aleppo]. And, in general, the state allocated 125 centers to people who are left homeless. Armenians who are far from Armenian communities can spend the night there," said Kevorkian.

He noted that many Syrian state institutions are not working at the moment.
