The situation related to the Lachin corridor should be resolved in accordance with humanitarian standards. Gordan Grlic Radman, the visiting Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, announced this at Wednesday’s news conference held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan.

The Croatian minister, who is in Armenia on an official visit, pointed to the EU's efforts at the highest level towards the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"Nevertheless, joint forces are needed for de-escalation of tension. I believe and hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan will continue their efforts to resume negotiations. Dialogue is important everywhere," said the Croatian official.

According to him, the new EU monitoring mission in Armenia can contribute to the strengthening of peace.

"As for the Lachin corridor, I will repeat the position of the EU: we hope that the issue will be resolved in accordance with international humanitarian standards," said the Croatian FM.
