French President Emmanuel Macron awarded Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskiy during his visit to Paris with the Legion of Honor, this is the highest award in the Republic. The French president said this on his Twitter page.

"A tribute to Ukraine and its people. A tribute to you, dear Vladimir, for your courage and determination," Macron wrote, accompanying the post with a video showing the moment of the award.

The day before, on February 8, Zelenskiy was in the UK, where he met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and addressed the government. In the evening of the same day, he flew to France, where he met with Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

On February 9, Zelenskiy will speak at the EU Council summit in Brussels.
