The trade turnover between Iran and Armenia was unprecedented at $710 million, said Grigor Melkonyan, Advisor of the Department for Neighboring Countries of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, during the February 9 discussion on "Armenian-Iranian relations in the context of common interests."

He added that in 2021 the figure was $503 million. "The growth in 2022 was about 41%. This is close to the target of $1 billion, which we are moving toward very quickly," the official stressed.

Melkonyan noted that the countries intend to bring the figure to $3 billion and the index of trade exchange to 5 million tons.
