Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev discussed measures aimed at ensuring security in the South Caucasus, the Kremlin press service reports.

"The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Practical measures aimed at ensuring security and stability in the South Caucasus were discussed, in line with the well-known tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia," the respective statement reads.

There was an exchange of views also on the development of transport, logistics, and economic ties in the region.
