The Parliament of Catalonia has issued a statement demanding Azerbaijan to stop its military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh and on the border with Armenia, and to return to the status quo established by the ceasefire.

The statement says: "The Parliament expresses its concern regarding the continuous violation of the borders of Armenia by Azerbaijan, for its destabilizing actions.

"Calls for the resumption of peace negotiations in order to achieve long-term peace in the South Caucasus.

"Demands that the Republic of Azerbaijan cease military actions in Nagorno-Karabakh and on the border of contact, it should refrain especially from violating the borders of the Republic of Armenia and return to the status quo established by the ceasefire, which is reflected in the tripartite statement of 2020. At the same time, it calls on the parties to do everything with the diplomatic tools at their disposal to restore peace.

"The Parliament requires the European Union to use its leverage to first return to the 2020 ceasefire agreement and then take steps to achieve a just and lasting peace. Also, it demands immediate cessation of all arms sales to Azerbaijan.
