STEPANAKERT. - Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan arrived in New York, on Wednesday. On the same day, Sahakyan met with Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) President Berge Setrakian and members of the Organization’s Central Board.

Issues related to different projects in Artsakh were discussed during the meeting, Central Information Department of the Office of NKR President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

President Sahakyan noted that AGBU had played an important role in the development of our republic and its assistance is needed in different spheres of Karabakh’s life, even today. At the same time the Head of the State underlined the need to give a new impetus to AGBU’s activities in Karabakh. 

Head of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Eastern Diocese of America, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Armenian Ambassador to US, Tatul Margaryan, Armenia’s Permanent Representative to UN, Karen Nazaryan, Head of Central Information Department of NKR President’s Office, David Babayan, NKR Permanent Representative to US and Canada, Robert Avetisyan, and other officials took part at the meeting.
