YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia approved Thursday the “Strategy for Industrial Policy Toward Export.”

This Strategy assumes that, by 2020, the volume of Armenia’s export will increase by at least three times, and reach an annual amount of US$ 3 billion.

And brandy production, pharmacy, and precision engineering will become those domains where export development programs will firstly be implemented.

Also, an Industrial Council is expected to be established, under the PM’s chairmanship, and it will comprise several pertinent ministers and representatives of business associations. And in connection with this, PM Tigran Sargsyan said, during Thursday’s Government session, that, aside from the association representatives, the Council must also include experts, and they must be more than the state officials.
