YEREVAN. – Fire in the Armenian Surb Nshan church in Tbilisi is a result of purposeful policy carried out by the Georgian authorities, head of the Yerevan branch of Research on Armenian Architecture Samvel Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The church was set on fire for three times. The Georgian authorities set an objective to exterminate proofs of Armenians, their historical monuments in the territory of Georgia through setting them on fire, Karapetyan said.

An expert group of the Armenian Ministry of Culture led by the head of the Agency for Protection of Monuments of History and Culture Serzhik Arakelyan, went to Tbilisi on Wednesday to clarify the details.
