YEREVAN. – According to the official information received from the Council of Europe, as a result of closed, secret ballot, Armenia’s representative is elected member in the Council’s Committee on Gender Equality.  

The newly established Committee, which was founded on the instruction of the Council’s Ministers’ Committee, will deal with policy development and promotion of gender equality issues, MFA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.   

And Armenia’s representative will be the sole delegate from the region.

Karine Sujyan, Head of MFA International Organizations Department’s Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs Division, will represent Armenia at the Council of Europe Committee on Gender Equality.
