YEREVAN. – Armenia’s former National Assembly Speaker Tigran Torosyan, who is an independent MP since September 2008, is not invited to the ruling coalition’s Prosperous Armenia Party congress to be convened on Saturday, Haykakan Zhamanak daily writes.

“Tigran Torosyan told our reporter that he did not go to the National Assembly in the past several days, but they definitely would have called and informed him had there been such invitation. Torosyan [also] ruled out the option of including his candidacy in the proportional [election] list of a [political] party [for the upcoming parliamentary elections], and also said he is not preparing to nominate his candidacy with the majority election system either,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
