YEREVAN. – Within the framework of its working visit paid to US on Wednesday and Thursday, Armenia’s delegation, led by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, was in New York, MOD informed Armenian News-NEWS.am

During the visit, Ohanyan met with Angela Kane, UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs. At the meeting, Armenia’s position with respect to the anti-terrorism strategy and several corresponding issues were presented. The interlocutors also underscored Armenia’s presentation of national reports and its active attendance to conferences on disarmament issues.    

And during the joint working consultation with Dmitry Titov, UN Assistant Secretary General for the Rule of Law and Security Institutions in the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the parties discussed Armenia’s future participation in UN peacekeeping operations, and enhancing humanitarian demining capabilities and cooperation in this regard.    

Along the lines of his stay in New York, the delegation led by Armenia’s Defense Ministries also met with representatives of the local Armenian community.
