YEREVAN. – The European Commission’s “Eastern Partnership Platform 4 Youth  Conference” will be held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan between Monday and Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Arsen Karamyan said during a press conference on Monday.

The objective of this program is to increase the contact among the youth of Eastern Partnership countries, namely, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine.

In his turn, Traian Hristea, the EU Mission Chief to Armenia, noted that the Yerevan conference is the Eastern Partnership’s first important event in 2012. The Conference will be held under the motto “Contacts between People.”

But the Azerbaijani delegation will not attend the event. Hristea assured that even though the invitations were sent to all delegations, the delegation from Azerbaijan had not arrived. “They are in a holiday; perhaps that is the reason,” the European diplomat maintained.
