YEREVAN. – The followers of the Islamic State have penetrated into Armenia, too, according to Zhoghovurd (People) newspaper.

“Fortunately, they did not manage to carry out large-scale terrorist actions here. Arman Janjughazyan was quickly exposed, who now is accused of the murder a Russian military serviceman in Gyumri.

“In an interview with Zhoghovurd daily, Mikayel Hambardzumyan, Head of the NSS [National Security Service] Investigative Department, said (…) Janjughazyan committed the murder on his own initiative, but he got the [respective] approval via internet from persons acting on behalf of the members of the Islamic State terrorist group.

“According to M. Hambardzumyan, once all this was exposed, Janjughazyan gave confessionary testimony,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
