The newspaper commented on U.S. President Barack Obama’s decision to nominate John A. Heffern, Deputy Permanent Representative at the U.S. Mission to NATO, for the post of U.S. Ambassador to Armenia.

“A diplomat specialized in Asia’s affairs will be appointed to the post. However, it is noteworthy that Heffern served as an assistant to a pro-Turkish congressman in the House of Representatives, who voted against various bills on Armenian Genocide recognition during his career,” Azg newspaper writes.
