YEREVAN. – The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) did not like ruling coalition junior partner Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party’s last statement, in which they not only criticized the present-day situation in the country, but also pointed out—in the proposals—the need to remove the “rating” election system from the Electoral Code of the country, according to Zhoghovurd (People) newspaper.

Speaking to Zhoghovurd, Gagik Melikyan, Secretary of the “Republican Party of Armenia” Faction at the National Assembly, assessed this statement by the ARF as manipulation adding that they will not change the Electoral Code and the “rating” election system.

“Usually political forces always wish to attribute to themselves the good that has been done during the activities, whereas to leave the bad to the other coalition member political force; this is not acceptable for any political force,” Melikyan said. “And I can say, the [Armenian] coalition political forces—both of them together—are accountable for both the good and the bad.”
