YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The National Security Service (NSS) reported “hot” news on Saturday that the person who held the post of deputy to then Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan in 2014-2016 was charged with causing more than 1.7 billion drams in damage to the state.

The NSS does not say which of Khachatryan’s eight deputies who served at that period is in question.

A decision has been made to arrest him, and as the former deputy minister, according to NSS information, is not in the country, a search warrant has been issued against him.

We were able to find out that it is about former deputy finance minister Artur Afrikyan. He has held this position for two years, starting in May 2014. He is 59 years old, an economist by profession, has a major general’s rank in the customs service. The NSS neither denied nor confirmed the information we received from our source.
