YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: "During my leadership there could not have been such a case of bringing in such a large amount of armaments and it would be of poor quality," former RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan responded in this way, in an interview with Zhoghovurd daily, to RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's controversial statement [that poor-quality weapons had been purchased during the tenure of the preceding authorities].

And, after this controversial statement, Zhoghovurd daily had asked the former minister for comment.

"The development plan of the Armed Forces is drawn up by the Ministry [of Defense] and the General Staff, with the participation of specialized departments, in which there are specialists who are well-versed in armaments, can take part in the tests [of these armaments], say it [the given weapon] is working or is not working. I don't think anyone would ever intentionally want to have a problem with armaments under Serzh Sargsyan or another president," Ohanyan said.

Let us add that, according to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, this low-quality armament was purchased after Ohanyan's tenure.
