YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia RA) writes: Already on June 29, it became known that after the amendments to the Law on the Constitutional Court (CC) by the NA [National Assembly], three already former CC judges Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan, Hrant Nazaryan and already former President of the Constitutional Court Hrayr Tovmasyan have applied to the European Court of Human Rights [(ECHR)].

And so, the European Court of Human Rights has very operatively sent a questionnaire to the RA government about judges. Let’s agree, this is somewhat of a slap [in the face] by the ECHR to the legal wing of the RA authorities.

And if the ECHR decides to accept the motion to ensure the petition and suspend the process of dismissal of the three CC judges and the removal of the [CC] president, then at least three persons—RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, RA Representative to the ECHR Yeghishe Kirakosyan, as well as chairman of the NA [Standing] Committee on State and Legal Affairs Vladimir Vardanyan—must bid farewell to their offices.

Why? Because they were the ones who were obliged to ensure the cooperation and understanding with the international community, to develop an invulnerable draft—which, in fact, has not been done.
