YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: The trend of reduction in the amount of meat production continues in Armenia.

ArmLur.am was informed by the RA Statistical Committee that the amount of beef production decreased by 3.9% in January-June of this year, as compared to the same period of the previous year. The same is true also for pork and mutton; the amount of production of pork decreased by 6% and mutton—by 2.9% in January-June this year.

Instead, the amount of poultry production increased by 10.8%.

In addition, a 4.7% drop was recorded also in the domain of production of sausages. Instead, the number of livestock has increased in Armenia; when the number of cattle was 655,800 in 2017, then in 2018 it became 590,600, in 2019—571,861, and in 2020—579,256.

As a result of all this, according to experts, the amount of production of beef, pork and mutton will increase [in Armenia] in the near future.
