YEREVAN. – Past daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: According to Past newspaper’s information, these days there is a rather restless and tense situation at the [majority] My Step faction of the National Assembly, albeit the [My Step] MPs try not to show anything on the outside. In fact, the disagreements [among them] are deepening.

Moreover, the topics are quite different and deep, and the contradictions are more pronounced with the rearrangements taking place in the judicial sphere of the RA and the election of [new] judges of the CC [Constitutional Court].

However, the disagreements related to these issues are conditioned not only by the candidacies for the judges of the CC (…), but also by the topic of the future president of the CC.

According to our sources, a significant number of those within the faction are those who are convinced that the best candidate for the president of the CC is Edgar Shatiryan [the government’s nominee for CC judge], and not [CC judge] Vahe Grigoryan, in connection with whom there are very serious reservations within the halls of power.
