YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes: Quite noteworthy emphases were made at yesterday’s meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Armenia [in Moscow], which lasted an hour and a half and was followed by a joint press conference.

And [Armenian FM] Zohrab Mnatsakanyan's statement regarding the introduction of an investigation mechanism [at the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone] was noteworthy here. The latter had noted in this connection: "If there are accusations against Armenia or Nagorno-Karabakh [on violating the ceasefire], we have always talked about it; investigation mechanisms need to be introduced. It is not the Armenian sides, but Azerbaijan that has refused to introduce this mechanism.

Then [Russian FM Sergey] Lavrov reaffirmed that the issues of maintaining the ceasefire regime are very important. "The process of introducing these mechanisms should not be delayed; the bodies of the casualties and the captives should be returned to their relatives," he said.

It should be noted, however, that it is not just the once that the Armenian side has spoken about the introduction of investigative mechanisms, but the Azerbaijani side initially tried to evade the implementation of the agreements reached, even denying months later, in June, the existence of such commitments.
