YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: A delegation of about 25 people consisting of Spanish parliamentarians and journalists has been in Armenia for two days already.

In a conversation with Zhoghovurd daily, Spain Congress MP Jon Inarritu informed that they have arrived in Armenia as observers to get acquainted with the aftermath of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression and to call on the international community to make efforts to reach a peaceful settlement to the [Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh)] issue.

The Spain delegation had left for Goris [town] yesterday, and in a conversation with us, Inarritu informed that during these two days they had managed to meet with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, people of Artsakh who have taken refuge in Armenia because of the war, doctors, as well as members of the RA parliament and representatives of the halls of power.

Moreover, in a conversation with Zhoghovurd daily, the MP informed that in the coming days they intend also to leave for Artsakh and get acquainted with the situation on the spot.

It should be reminded that from the very first days of the war, Jon Inarritu, together with his colleagues, has condemned the actions of Azerbaijan, participated in the protests organized by Armenians. Speaking in the [Spanish] Congress, he had noted: "Turkey, which is engaged in the ongoing conflicts in the Mediterranean, the Caucasus and the Middle East, has joined Azerbaijan to shell the civilian population of Artsakh."
