YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: Gagik Jhangiryan [i.e., acting chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC)] voiced a challenge addressed to [SJC former chairman] Ruben Vardazaryan on the air of [state-funded] Public [Television] a few days ago: "Let him publicize the whole [audio] recording, which is about two and a half hours."

Not much is in his interests there, and, according to our information, the full publicizing of the recording can be destructive for Jhangiryan himself. A well-informed source said that in other parts of the conversation he used no less colorful expressions addressed to [PM] Nikol Pashinyan. Vardazaryan, in fact, spared him by not publicizing it.

But the most noteworthy is the part on [the deadly parliamentary shooting on] October 27 [1999]. Our source did not detail what he said, and Vardazaryan does not answer the calls so that we could ask that question.

As for Jhangiryan, the latter underwent surgery (…).
