Zhoghovurd daily of Armenia writes: Armenia is among the countries that use spy programs. The Armenian government has used spy programs to track its opponents. This is also evidenced by the Freedom in the World 2023 annual report published yesterday by the international human rights organization Freedom House.

In its report, Freedom House recalled that back in May 2022, Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) had linked the Armenian government to the use of Predator spyware created by the [North] Macedonian company Cytrox. Cytrox company's Predator program targets people to collect data, manipulate [them], and disable their devices and internet accounts. The report states that spyware has been used to target journalists, dissidents, and human rights defenders in several countries, including Armenia.

Let's remind that back in 2021, the leader of [opposition] Homeland Party, Artur Vanetsyan, had announced that his and his family members' cell phones had been tapped by another spying program, the Pegasus program.
