YEREVAN. – Ruben Muradyan, the son of the prefect of Azatamut village in Armenia’s Tavush Region, was taken into custody on Thursday, Hraparak daily writes.

“A criminal case is launched against him on charges of hooliganism. The Police informed that the prefect’s two sons had argued, clashed with other persons, [and] even fired shots in the air.

We were able to ascertain that the cause of the argument was illegal lumbering; and the other party to the conflict was a Tavush forester, who for a long time had tried to prevent unlawful cutting down of trees, but to no avail.

And the forester had personally gone to Azatamut to regulate the matter. The conflict had occurred at the very yard of the prefect’s home. The Azatamut villagers drove into the forester’s car,” Hraparak writes.
