YEREVAN. – The more the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence draws near, the rumors, according to which the authorities are going to declare amnesty, become that much more active among the prisoners in the country, according to Zhoghovurd newspaper.

“Amnesty is usually declared on the occasion of such anniversaries, but this fact still does not mean that it definitely will be so this time, too.

“According to our information, however, nonetheless, discussions have taken place at the President’s Office, with regard to amnesty,” wrote Zhoghovurd.
