YEREVAN. – Regional Studies Center Director, political analyst Richard Giragosian, spoke to 168 Zham (Hour) newspaper of Armenia, and he commented on the likely political developments in the country, after 2018.
As per Giragosian, when the new Constitution of Armenia will enter into final force and the country’s army will no longer have a commander in chief, there will be no risks in terms of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), or the national security of Armenia. But, in his view, there can be threats from Azerbaijan.
Accordingly, Azerbaijan may have a misapprehension that this will be a good time to attack, since Armenia has destabilized and weakened; that is, as per Richard Giragosian, this risk is linked more to Azerbaijan’s reaction, or its misapprehension.
