YEREVAN. – During Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “grand interview” on Thursday, a question was asked as to how the sanctions by Western countries on Russia have impacted the country’s economy, according to Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Times) newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA).

“Putin responded to the question in a style that is already familiar to us [Armenians]. ‘Have they impacted us or not? Yes, they have impacted. Have they drastically impacted or not? I don’t think so,’ he said.

“RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan, who has held high positions at the Russian largest Gazprom company for quite long years, uses this style very often. 

“Perhaps, it is worth rummaging the archives and finding out who imitated who in this style of responding to questions. Karen Karapetyan, from Putin? Or Putin, from Karen Karapetyan?” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
