YEREVAN. – Ambassador to UK Armen Sarkissian, whom the ruling Republican party of Armenia (RPA) has nominated as its presidential candidate, on Monday met with the RPA and the “Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF)” factions of the National Assembly, whereas his talks with the opposition “Tsarukyan” and “Way Out” factions are put off, according to Zhamanak (Time) newspaper.

“The reason is that both ‘Tsarukyan’ bloc faction head Gagik Tsarukyan and ‘Way Out’ [faction] leader Nikol Pashinyan are not in Armenia. In all likelihood, [Sarkissian’s] meetings with these factions will take place next week, when they will return to Armenia.

“[But] according to our information, Armen Sarkissian also will go abroad for three days,” wrote Zhamanak.
