YEREVAN. – Armenian authorities have decided to downsize the government structure in a phased precept, according to Zhamanak (Time) newspaper.
“In the first phase, ministers will not be appointed, and the first deputy ministers—in fact, minister—will head them [the ministries].
“Subsequently, they will downsize the staff, slowly but firmly, until nothing is left any longer from the [given] ministry.
“This is done for the objective of somehow alleviating public discontent,” Zhamanak wrote.
